Welcome!

I’m Danielle Paloposki, and I’m glad you’re here.

I’m an experienced educator, former School-Based Administrator, and former Director of Teaching & Learning who now partners with schools to shift from traditional grading to purpose-driven, student-centered assessment systems. I support leaders and teachers in designing meaningful competency-based systems, aligning practice with provincial policy, and building cultures where assessment fuels learning rather than simply measuring it.

I also work collaboratively with the Canadian Assessment Center, joining colleagues Tom Schimmer and Natalie Vardabasso, supporting leaders and teachers in transforming assessment practices across Canada.

This page gives you access to the recording of the webinar you weren’t able to attend. I hope it supports your next steps toward a more authentic, competency-driven approach.

Webinar Summary:

Teachers everywhere are noticing the same patterns: students who are disconnected, distracted, hyper–focused on grades, and emotionally checked out. Many educators are searching for ways to spark genuine engagement and rekindle a desire to learn.

In this recorded one-hour session, 22-year veteran Canadian educator Danielle Paloposki shares how to shift from chasing points and proficiency levels to designing for deep learning—using AI as a powerful design partner. Educators will walk away with practical strategies to create learning experiences that build clarity, autonomy, and ownership for students, all without adding extra hours to planning or creating chaos in the classroom.

Through relatable stories and classroom-tested moves, Danielle demonstrates how intentional assessment and learning design can help students feel capable, confident, and motivated again, while freeing up your time and placing the cognitive heavy lifting where it belongs: with students.

This session isn’t about blaming students for being “point-obsessed.”
It’s a practical, hopeful roadmap for restoring motivation, deepening learning, and helping students genuinely own their growth.
